Neuralog Frequently Asked Questions - NeuraLog
What is the latest NeuraLog version?
See What's
Shipping page for all our products.
How do I find out what my license key # is to get online updates?
The license key # appears on the 'About' splash panel. To get there, start up the program and select Help -> About NeuraLog. All the information you will need is there.
You can also request an update or see if you need an
update by choosing Help->Support->Check for Updates... This process
will determine whether an update and/or new license file is needed, and
allow you to easily make the request.
Do I need a special mouse to make auto-tracing work in my NeuraLog software?
No. Neuralog products work with all standard 3-button mice, and Neuralog works with most Wheel Mice. Neuralog products DO NOT work with Microsoft Intellimouse products. The logic Microsoft places in the mouse buttons overrides Neuralog's button assignments. There are hundreds of mice available on the market. Neuralog has tested several Microsoft and Logitech mice. Contact support@neuralog.com if you need a mouse suggestion.
If my log has a scale change, do I need to start a new depth axis?
You do not have to start a new depth axis. The pull down menu from the Backups button (next to the depth axis window) has a 'Scale Change' option. After clicking on Scale Change, set the left and right limits in the lower two scale axis windows.
Do I have to delete and re-do my depth grids if they get messed up?
No. You can just delete a few grids where they start messing up and re-start.
How do I find out what my license key # is to get online updates?
The license key # appears on the NeuraLog splash panel that appears when you start the program. (The same is true for NeuraMap.)
Will NeuraLog run on my older Windows platform?
Although older versions of NeuraLog will run on WNT
and W3.1. Neuralog no longer supports these older platforms. If you have
an older Windows OS, we highly recommend you upgrade to a newer operating system.
Can I calibrate my log putting the 'depth axis' on the right-hand side of a track?
No. The depth axes must always be on the left hand side of each track.
Do I have to re-calibrate each log track for each curve?
No. You only need to calibrate each track once regardless of how many curves there are. When you select Add New Curve on an existing track, a new 'scale axis' is created and the left and right scale values will become active so you can enter the correct scale values.
I've digitized my backup curves on the wrong scale. I set it to left
back up but it should have been a right back up. I don't want to re-digitize my
curve. Can I fix it?
No need to re-digitize.
- Select curve with the bad scales.
- Go to: Edit > Curve Scales...
- Create the correct backup scale if you haven't already done so.
- Select in the 'Scale Level' list
- Multi-select the 'wrong' scale intervals in 'Curve Selections'
- Click << Change button
How do I combine 2 or more LAS files?
To combine or merge multiple LAS files:
- Open first LAS file.
- File > Merge Files...
- Select second LAS File
- Select curves and interval to merge.
- Click OK
