Logosub Create Depth Axis

Top  Previous  Next

When defining the top and bottom points for a depth axis, there are a few restrictions to keep in mind.  NeuraLog requires depth grids at the top and bottom points of the depth axis; therefore, the top and bottom points should correspond to grid lines in the log image.  Additionally, NeuraLog expects the same spacing between all grid lines within a depth axis.  Remember this when choosing the minimum and maximum depth points.

To create a depth axis, use the following steps:

Turn on Axes Definition Mode,ModeAxisDef

Using the left mouse button, click in the log image on the point representing the top depth to be digitized on the LEFT edge of the Log Track as shown below.

DepthAxisDefine             AddTopD

Type the top value in the pop-up menu shown above and select feet or meters.

Scroll the image to the endpoint representing the bottom depth to be digitized.

Click on the bottom depth.

Type the bottom value in the pop-up menu shown above and select feet or meters (if not selected when top value was typed in).

NOTES:

1. Depth axes must be defined to the left of their associated curves.

2. Each depth axis will have a name, DA1, DA2, etc. (Depth Axis 1, Depth Axis 2, etc.)

3. After adding the top and bottom depth values, a line will be drawn between the values.

4. NeuraLog supports multiple depth track (axis) definitions.  The first track is named DA1, the second DA2, and so forth.

To Remove a Track (depth axis):

Click the Remove button in the DEPTH AXIS section of the Track Properties or

Select File > Delete > Depth Axis.

NOTE: If a depth axis is removed, all associated scale axes and curves are permanently removed.
