Once a depth axis has been created, its' associated scales axes can be created. Note: Scale axes can be created above the top depth point or below the bottom depth point of the associated depth axis.
To create a new scale axis, use the following steps:
| • | Turn on Axes Definition Mode. ![]() |
| • | Using the left mouse button, click in the log image on the point representing the left scale value (above or below the top/bottom depth points). |

| • | Type the left value in the pop-up menu shown above and select scale type and curve units. |
| • | Click on the right scale value on the log image. |
| • | Type the right scale value in the pop-up menu shown above and select scale type and curve units (if not selected when left value was typed in). |
When a scale is created correctly, the two endpoints will connect, allowing the Scale Axis Overlay to be viewed on top of the log image. The newly created scale axis will appear in the Track Properties list as DAi_SAj.
NOTES:
| 1. | The scale axis may be defined above or below the curve and depth axis. |
| 2. | If the units you need are not on the dropdown, select Other to add custom units. (The units must be 4 or less characters) |
To Remove a Scale Axis:

| • | Select File > Delete > Scale Axis. |
NOTE: Any and all curves associated with the scale will be deleted when the scale is deleted.
